Afiq is the CEO of Durian Capital, an investment firm based in Malaysia and an Advisor to Gobi Partners, a VC firm ith US$ 1.6 bn. AUM, with HQs in Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur.

Afiq was a founding member of MaGIC, Malaysia’s government startup agency, and Chief Fintech Officer at the Astana International Financial Centre, Kazakhstan, where he continues to sit on their Fintech Advisory Council.

He has spent the last 10 years in startup ecosystem building and both corporate and government innovation, and spent 7 years as a Consultant working with Bain & Co., Accenture and PwC.
